I seem to have forgotten how to do this….

How do I make the nodes in COPs show the images in the icon? Kind of hard to use a node-based compositor without that but nothing leaps out at me.

It's always been able to do this but I just can't figure out how to turn it on.

This ability was lost with the network overhaul in H9, and wasn't re-implemented as was the plan.

I think the image would need to sit to the right of the node, centered vertically with the node name above it. Replacing the icon would make it a very small swatch, or a very large node tile. The additional beneift is that the image could then take a RMB menu, which could be used to select the plane and the icon preview size.

This was previously (but very recently) submitted as RFE #37977. I'll add you to the list of interested parties.

Ah, OK thanks Mark. I guess I'll take comfort in the fact I'm not quite as crazy as I thought

There's still a button for it in List mode, though, which couldn't have helped
