I have done this before in some earlier version of houdini apprentice, but
I must have lost some thing on the way.
In houdini 11.0.504 im following this simple tutorial with mdd caching.

I just wanted to check how the workflow works again with this, but I end up
with an object not moving.
just a simple rotation of a box, but when I load the mdd file to lightwave 10, the object just changes rotation
to what was the last frame in houdini, but It´s static..It seems to not have saved out the complete frames from scratch.
I have the older test in a folder and that was a simple crack of an object, so that obj works and loads perfectly
in lightwave 10.
Im sure Im just missing a small detail somewhere.
Maybe I should post the scene too?

MMdd point cache export to lightwave, problems!

this was a bug, only the last frame was saved to mdd
i submitted it back then and this was the answer:
“This is fixed in 11.0.518, however, not it will still fail if used as an input in a ROP dependency network.”
note that current production build is 11.0.581 so many bugs were fixed since 504
you can still save mdd for frame with $F in the name in older builds, but then it would be usable only in houdini I think

thanks tamte, I should of course update the build and test again.
Man If I only could learn to check and update builds, but I don´t use houdini that often so far, what a waste of time figuring out what´s wrong.
By the way…where´s the update builds for apprentice?
or do I have to do a complete reinstall?
