I've installed Houdini apprentice twice now, but still don't get the icons, shortcuts, or anything to actually start the program. I can't even find the .exe file if I try to create a desktop shortcut. HOW do I run the program?!
'My computer' and ‘explorer’ both tell me the program is there. (I've installed it on windows xp)

that's very strange…I've installed Houdini dozens of time on XP and have never had any trouble at all…
if you're just looking for the exe > look in c/:program files/Side Effects/bin

It should be Start Menu > Program Files > Side Effects Software > Houdini 6.1.xxx > Houdini Master

yeah…that's where it is in the Start Menu, but I was assuming that the shortcuts hadn't been created….
