mixing uv unwrap and uv texture?

this is something ive never really understood, and was hoping someone could explain.


why, when i have 2 streams of geo, uv unwrap one and uv texture the other, then mix them together, only one of the texures show up?

they are both storing uvs on the vertices so its not that. is this a bug or expected behavior?

i am currently in 12.1.125, but recall this happening since 11.

because on box you have vertex UVs
and on sphere point UVs
if you merge those, vertex attributes have priority

so just make sure your UVtexture for sphere produces vertex UVs (set Apply To to Vertex Texture)
