I am trying to render curves as textured ribbons but they flip if I deform them, I am trying to use the up vector but it doesn't seem to work.

Any Ideas on how to avoid this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that in my file in order to see the issue you need to use renderview and check for the frames when the line bends down and compare it in the timeline when it is opposite you'll see the flip issue.

I hope it makes sense.

That's because you should define a default vector (0,1,0) for the orient attr !

If you bypass twist node ,so the line not twisted , then you can't render your ribbon at the default orient direction !!!

to solve that you can simply add an up direction by orient attr
