Set Different Background For Each View?

How do I setup a different background for each view. I know that clicking the “apply display” button can separate things between views, but I only get one background to choose from. I need to setup 2 (sometimes 3) backgrounds as reference.

So the top view would have one bkg, the right another etc… (camera another)

How is this done? So far I can only insert one bkg either in all or in one… but I don't know how to insert a second (different) bkg without replacing the first.

Is this doable?

Thanks.

If you're using H13, you can set a different BG image for each viewport type in the Display Options, Background tab (hotkey “D” in the 3D view). Just select the tab of the viewport type you want, enter the file, switch to the next tab, next file, etc.

Wow - it was sooo simple. I guess I was blind because I'm new to 13 and never thought to look any further. Was this option available in 12? Thank you for the help.

Nope, in 12 there was 1 BG image parameter and you had disable “Appy to Split Views”, select a viewport and assign a BG image to it, then carefully repeat.
