I have two texture, one is normal JPEG, and other one is Gamma corrected use Photoshop(Gamma -> 0.45),also saved as JPEG.
I created two materials, one use linearized texture as color map.
and then I import that normal JPEG to cop and use “Linearize Non-Linear images” function under file node.
the two textures should be same, but turns out it's not. the first one which is used linearized texture is darker than other one.
what's the problem here? Does Houdini automatically linearize all JPEG even the JPEG is already linearized? what part I did wrong?
Does Houdini automatically linearize JPEG?

Yes, since there is no way of knowing if it is linearized or not, all 8bit formats will be converted. If you want to do that manually beforehand (for whatever reason) you have to manually compensate for that.
Float formats are assumed to be linear on the other hand.
