I just started using renderman in houdini. A neat trick I liked with mantra is that you could override shader parameters on a per-point basis using attributeCreate. However, this doesnt seem to work with renderman shaders. Anyone have a method for getting point data into rman shaders?
I don't know much about this but I think you need to insert a Attribute SOP and put in specific mappings of your attributes to the proper RenderMan types in the RenderMan tab of that SOP. Make sure you pick the correct type. For an explanation of them, refer to the RenderMan documentation.
