Hi all, I am following this tutorial (https://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2166&Itemid=361 [sidefx.com]) on the first part - rock generator.

Using that same exercise, I am trying to create random rotations onto the rocks. I have been reading some ways to do so, such as using point SOP, polyframe etc.. but I am unable to get it right

I used a Point SOP, creating random normal directions, thinking it may work but it ain't. Can any one guide me?

Many thanks in advance!

Hey tamte, thanks for getting back to me.

By the way, I am having issues opening the file, and got the following error as seen in the attachment.

3 nodes, namely - attribrandomize_pscale, attribrandomize_orient and the copy are in Red. Am I perhaps missing something?

By the way I am using Houdini 13

By the way, I was told, quoted by one of my colleague that some Houdini stuff were removed in the office version of the Houdini that I am using, probably that is why it is not working.. What it is, I may never know…

But even so, is there perhaps another way of doing so, by using the file that I have attached in my first post?

This project made by Houdini 14 , I think you have Houdini 13 or older versions

Of course as salik said , in the Houdini 14 you can use Attribute Randomize node , But you don't have this in Houdini 13 , So you should make it manually with one of the methods that I made

Hi Joker386, sorry for the late reply. Just tried out your file and it is working for me and indeed what I am looking for!

Greatly appreciated it!
