Hi I'm a long time sketchup user new to Houdini.

In Sketchup with Thea render I was experimenting with making grass from 2d planes containing an image, with the alpha channel transparent and the visible image translucent. (see image below)

Is this possible in Houdini apprentice Mantra and if so is there a tutorial showing me how to do it.

Thanks

Just add a principled shader to your plane (called a grid in houdini).
Activate the texture map for the diffuse surface and place your diffuse texture there. Do the same thing for opacity only use the alpha version of the texture for that slot.
Using Houdini Indie 20.0
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3050RTX 8BG RAM.
