Hello,

I'm in the process of translating from Grasshopper (Rhino 3D plugin) to Houdini. I have basic knowledge of Houdini and understand how it works and I've done some projects in it but I need a little help with translating a node graph from Grasshopper to Houdini.

the thing I'm trying to achieve in Houdini is to take a mesh and have hexagonal openings protruding in it. below are some pictures of what I have in rhino:

1) base mesh (this one is NURBs surface but I have polygon version)

2) result after grasshopper node graph

3) grasshopper node graph

what the node graph is doing is subdividing the surface into hexagonal cells, offsetting them on surface, then scaling them down and moving them down and lofting the result.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

Take a look at Matt's example file for creating a hole at a vertex. [forums.odforce.net] In his example file he is smoothing out the result to form a circular shape but you may be able to alter it to produce a hexagon.
