Simple boolean problem..

I'm doing the simplest possible boolean and it seems to be giving me bad results. Its a nice simple trick for joining cylinders with the same number of columns and it works in Maya (which is surprising..)

I've tried lots of combinations for solid/surface etc but it still seems to boolean one side of the cylinder correctly but not the other side (its strange that they are different..)

Is this a bug/limitation with the boolean node or have I missed something?

It's a precision error - just try offsetting the cylinder a tiny amount and you'll find it works.

I would say that's a bug. The bad, uncut faces, are properly cut if de-triangulation is disabled.

Yes I found that, but I agree I think it's a bug. Especially when Maya's booleans works in the same case..
