Flip Fluid Emission Stop

I have a sphere that is emitting a flip fluid.

I've used “Curl” to animated the fluid out to kind of a “splat.”

I need to have it emit for a few frames and then stop emitting.

I've keyframed off the velocity (keyed it from 1 to 0 ) but it still appears to be hanging around.

Is there a way to “kill” fulid particles over time like there is in regular particles?

And is there some reason it still emitting after I turn off velocity? Or is this not the way to stop emission on a flip fluid?

Animate the Scale Source Volume scale value instead (1-0 to turn it off). Zero velocity particles still exists.
