Baking Textures from High to Low

Hi, I'm new to Houdini and have a small problem
I'm trying to import a mesh with uvs to use as a low mesh for a texture bake
Houdini doesn't seem to like me importing meshes with their own UVs and using them in the bake
the bake for Nt comes out grey using the imported low mesh but if i add uvs as a node in houdini it works…
I can see the original uv's on the imported mesh in the uv viewport in houdini so they do exist
I've also baked with these meshes before in other packages without issues
Am i missing a step importing the uvs for the mesh?
