Maybe I have a bad day?
As I remember, check “Unique Points” in the facet Sop brings me f.e. 4 polys from a rectangle? Or am I wrong?
Always the same point count if I check it on or off…

If its just 1 polygon and you want 4 indiviual lines then try “convert line”.
With several polygons “facet-unique points” will indeed return individual polygons.
