How do the hardmodel tools compare to lets say Blender.. can you ( if you wish ) sometimes ignore the whole procedural aspect of the tools and model like in other traditional 3D software like 3DsMax, Blender, ..https/discord.software/ https://fetlife.vip/ [fetlife.vip] https://downloader.vip/itunes/ [downloader.vip]

Yes, you can ignore the procedural aspect, for the most part. I don't think it's advisable to want to do so 100% of the time as you're denying yourself many tricks you won't have in non-procedural mediums and then you're just trading a set of hotkeys for another.
The current issues with Houdini's modeling (of which are quite a few) have nothing to do with the procedural nature of H. IMO

In short yes. It just requires a different kind of approach. I'm no expert and I'm still learning as well. Modeling wise, I feel like it does fall short compared to others in speed but then again I might retract this statement when I get use to Houdini (hopefully soon).
Anyway check out Fianna Wong's video on Hard Surface concept in Houdini https://vimeo.com/279931521 [vimeo.com]
You might get the idea of how to approach modeling in Houdini and its procedural nature.

Also check out Alexey Vanzhula's Direct Modeling HDA. Updated version should come out soon I think.
