snap to object or "make live"

In maya you can snapt points to an polygonal, nurbs or subdivision model. For do this you can select the icon “Make the selected object live” or select the reference model and go to Modify -> Make live. How I can do the same with Houdini??

You can do the same with snapping. Just type ‘snapping’ into the Help Browser's search and it should be the first link in the list.

If you are using curve sops turn on snap consolidate and the positions of the points for snapped ones will become references, therefore even if the input changes shape the curve will go along for the ride…. can be handy. Not sure if it works for other sops.
The trick is finding just the right hammer for every screw
