I have downloaded Houdini Apprentice for the sole reason that I want to generate a digital 3d model of the famous painting by Hokusai: “Great Wave of Kanagawa”.

I have followed a few tutorials on waves- but no way I can make it look as anything like it! All my tests look like calm beach waves or splashes in a tank. Can anyone help out? What is the best starting point? Important parameters to work on?
(As a newbie there is a ton of other issues to solve as well, but by experience I have found that the most efficient way to learn a new software is to have a spesific task to solve!)
