Vellum external hair collisions

I working on some Vellum hair sims, and I noticed that when "External Collisions" are activated in the "Vellum Collisions" tab, the input field for the collision objects seems to only allow a single object input.

Is there a way to add multiple objects ? Or should one really first merge all the collision objects into a new SOP and add that object ?

As a rule of thumb, a single input accepts a single connection. Is there a reason why you don't want to merge the collision objects?

I don't want to merge the collision object. But it seems it's the only way to add multiple objects.

I have several external collision objects, I suspect it's something that happens a lot. So I expected to be able to simply add all the collision objects, just as I can add multiple groups into a single input.
