This is a bug (19.5.435) or i don't understand something important ?
I'm just starting to learn USD|Solaris.
If i try save my "asset", target GEO folder is empty. As I understand there should be a file - "$HIP/tutorial1/Geo/BarrelBase.usd".

Thank you for the screenshots. I suspect the issue is that your current directory ($HIP) contains a '&' character in it which is resulting in the :SDF_FORMAT_ARGS: becoming invalid.
I'm not immediately aware of a solution to this, other than the workaround of renaming your directory from D:/_r&d to D:/_rnd (or something else similar).
