Houdini 20 Crowd SOPs are Spreading Out

I'm working on flocking birds using the Houdini 20 Crowds SOPs workflow.
I have a flock of birds following a curve.
I'm noticing that the birds/agents are spreading out from their original distances from each other over time.
I have tried adjusting all the parameters on the Crowd MotionPath Follow SOP, but none of them are helping.
I want the birds/agents to stay closer together throughout the frame range.
What am I missing?

Try lowering the Distance Variance to 0.1 or smaller. Also you might want to consider a better point system for starting. Your current setup leaves a few confused and moving in the wrong direction.

Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
