Hi,
I understand that Houdini needs to recalculate the whole cache of an animation if any modification is made, because it takes the data of the previous frames to calculate the cache.
But having a simulation of 300 quite heavy, if I would like to increase it to 350,.... Is there no way to calculate only the last 50 frames? or Houdini has to create again the cache of the 300 frames already calculated?
Thank you very much in advance.
Calculate cache from a given frame

You can for example store checkpoint files every N frames and then continue from the closest previous one to your start frame

Just be careful with your modifications if you are extending the cache this way, since if you make any nodufications that would have also affected already cached parts of the sim then your network will no longer be able to reproduce the same sim next time

Yes, it's a good trick for long and heavy simulations in case in postpo you see that you need some modification, or that the cinematic plane is short of time, for example. Thank you very much !
