Hi,
I'm wondering what happened to the “ShadingRate” parameter in the Renderman ROP? I looked through the list of parameters and I found: ri_shadingmultiplier - but nothing that resembles “ShadingRate”?
I can't remember the relationship ri_shadingmultiplier has to ShadingRate (if there's one at all) - if someone could enlighten me - I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

The *mutiplier shading rate/quality parameters on ROPs work as global factors against all the shading rates that might be set on objects (or primitives or cameras, etc).
For example if an object has a shading rate of .5 and the ri_shadingmultiplier is also at 0.5, the object will shaded at rate 0.25. This is contrast to if you're attempting to use the ri_shadingrate parameter on the ROP- which would only ever be respected if there was no shadingrate property set on the object (and it'd be shaded at 0.5).
