Hi forum,

Please help. I was following the tutorial on barrel creation for Unity and I would like to do some modifications; my model isn't a barrel.
I would like to delete the front faces of the object preserving the ridges.
Please see attached screenshot with the faces I want to delete. hipnc is attached too.

Thank you.

If you use a blast node instead of your dissolve1 node and choose your “group5” for “Group” in your blast node it seems to be doing what you want I think.

Thank you Marco for your reply. Those points in “group5” were selected by me in order to take the screenshot, they are not procedural.
I'm almost there (see attached) using a bounding box but I need to keep the ridges.

Thanks

you could make a group of polys that face the camera, then combine that with a group based on the size of the polys.

If you save all prims into a group before you bevel, then all the new faces ( the ridges ) won't be in that group
You can then combine it with your “camera facing” group, like Michael said.

Thank you for all the replies ! The solutions work for what I need (front rings flat) with some extra nodes and group combinations. I think I didn't understand well how the combine tab works.
I've attached the solution in case someone is interested. Though, it could be improved.

Best

M
