I have H14.201 running on OSX 10.95.
I want to try out the latest daily build so I download the new installer.
After I run the installer the new licenses fail.
The old licenses still work, I can launch the old version of Houdini.
Do I have to manually release the licenses from the old install in order to use the new version of Houdini Apprentice?
Or does the License Manager/Installer just handle that automatically?

After reading the messages and help I have come to the conclusion that you have to be an Admin user the first time you launch Houdini from a new install on OSX or the license files will not be written.
My solution was to locate the SESI folder on OSX
Library/Preferences/sesiAdd my non-admin user to the Sharing & Permissions list that is found under a right-click/Get Info for files and folders inside the Finder.
I added my non-admin user to every file in the sesi folder and to the folder itself. Once you add the user then you have to make sure you change the users privilege to Read & Write, it defaults to Read.
As a note to SESI install developers. This really should be handled by the installer itself while the installer still has the Admin privilege you grant the installer when you launch it.
Or these kinds of license files should be placed under.
/User/UserName/Library/Preferences….etcwhich a non-admin user has the privilege to write to.
