Is there a new way to do this or is the functionality removed from the online help? Looks like its supposed to be searchable but the search box online is not present, at least for Chrome browser:

“The search box in the top right of every Houdini help page lets you search the help. Just click and start typing”

Perhaps this is related to the daily build issue I identified earlier with the new SideFx website.

At the moment, the search box seems to be working in Houdini 15.5.480 and Chrome 50.0.2661.102.

Looks like the search box in the online documentation can get hidden in the upper-left portion of the browser view.

Disabling the class=“brand navitem” svg header element can make it visible again.

The query just points to the 15.0 Google site search, though.

Yes, this is not visible for me under Firefox on Linux. Thanks for the information.

Same on Safari. I use help in the browser frequently as the inline help takes a while to load. Anybody else get that (Mac Pro latest OS, etc).

Set this env variable to avoid the slow inline browser on OsX:

HOUDINI_EXTERNAL_HELP_BROWSER = 1
