In V8b, what happened to the random function. It does not appear under Help in Texport, and if I put $RND in a field, it errors out.

I tried $RND, $RAND, $RANDOM, and few other variations, but it errors out. What is the correct syntax. In general where can I find a good expression syntax reference for V8. I can't use Houdini Help becouse Houdini Browser crashes when I pull up Help or press ‘?’ icon in Parameter window.

Yeah, you should use the -k option to search by keyword too:

ie.:

Search commands: help -k mykeyword
Search expressions: exhelp -k mykeyword

Eg.
exhelp -k random
