Is it me do you find if fast enough and reliable?

I have less problem with dirt mask for example…

It's unreliable and can suddenly become very very slow in some situations for no apparent reason. Just so you're aware of its status, I filed a bug with content for it and got this response back.

Unfortunately the Curvature VOP *is* really slow.

For baking curvature we switched away from it and use a different method. Parts of it are specific to baking and use some precomputed data though so it can't easily be used as a general purpose replacement for the curvature VOP.

It uses the same algorithm as the Measure SOP - so you could use that to bake the curvature data onto points.

If you need it on subd or displacements you could use the getlocalcurvature() function. That is what the baking tools use and when used on subd/displacement they don't require any precomputation. You may need to massage the output of the function to get usable values.
