Why are bones snapping to primitives surface when creating them?

I'm getting into rigging in Houdini, so entering a whole new world. I'm creating bones from the side view following the shape of my geo, and for some reason, although i don't have any snapping option on, the bones seems to interact and snap to the surface of the primitives in the scene/viewport. How can i turn this off please?

Cheers,

A.

Packing the geo prevents that, but why oh why is this on by default although my snapping tool is off?

Apprently this happens when the option “view based / Normal based” is selected, and not when the “freehand” option is selected.

I'll just leave it here.

No worry. Same issue i had with the Capure… totally missed at first those drop downs above the scene view… or wasn't in the right context to see them. Getting a hang of things. Digging into IK/FK now, brace yourself for the spam of noob's questions incoming :$

Cheers,
