Game Dev - Simple Baker / Gameres - Bake color from texture

hi there,
I would like to use the awesome gameres node from the game dev tools to create lowres geo with normal map and diffuse color from a reality cspture mesh + texture.
but no matter what I try the color map renders always black.
In all the tutorials they never render color.

any ideas what I have to do to make it work?

windows 10 with
Houdini 17.0.416 and the
GameDev tools version 1.122

The simple baker is only setup to bake vertex color. I think you need to use the regular baking method to bake from one diffuse color onto another mesh.

I agree though it would be good to change the simple baker to support diffuse map to diffuse map baking.

I tried attribute from map too and I tried promoting to vertex.
but still all black.

maybe there is someting wrong with the mesh but the ao and normal map looks good.

If someone would like to look at the mesh that would be amazing

turned out that, now you should assign a quckmaterial to make simpler baker work for baking basecolor.
