Hi everyone,

I just downloaded 6.1.258 for Windows XP and noticed the DLS server presents you with an Alpha and Beta agreement for this version; is it considered to be beta software?

I would say yes…the AFAIK the ‘gold’ build of 6.1 was 208

If that's the case, wouldn't it make sense to have the “gold” release on the DLS server too? I guess I could grab it from the Sydney site, but it becomes confusing. There should also be a note on the DLS page to indicate these differences.

And… where's the release notes?

Hey Mark,

The DLS is setup for the latest builds hence the missing “gold” release. For the release notes, hbrowser -> Go -> External Links -> Software Change Log.

When I go to that link, I'm asked for my user forum name and password, then it redirects me to the main SESI web site; no change log.

As per the SESI DLS site, where is one supposed to go to get the “gold” release then (I want to go back to 6.1.208, there's been changes that affect the Real Flow plugins)?

After “logging in” I closed than reopened Houdini and I got to:

when clickng on the change log link, but it responded with:

Sorry, access not allowed, you must be a member of ‘Support’

Huh? Is that for the internal supoort group or those users who have support contracts?

One used to need a password to get to the beta cuts, but no more, that seems odd too ..

I would recommend you contacting SESI about getting access to the Journal. As for the missing “gold” build, it's only available from Sydney VisLab [sidefx.vislab.usyd.edu.au].

Actually, you need a password for both of them. What is backwards is that some people (such as yourself) have Beta access but do not have Support access. Please contact your support representative about gaining Support access.
