How can I reset my Houdini destop settings as factory default settings?
How do I display the total polygon count for the whole scene in Houdini?
In Maya, we need to create a project in oder to have better file management. How about in Houdini? Do we need to set a Project in Houdini? (like renderman workspace)

I am planning to render Houdini 's scene with renderman. How should I start? Is there any tutorial talks about it? I also want to learn how to make a renderman shading network with Houdini. Will that shading network work for other renderman renderer other than prman?

I successfully made 2 holes but I could not trim a nurbs circle on a nurbs sphere. I still do not know why!

While I was trying to go through the modeling tutorial(http://www.vislab.usyd.edu.au/sidefx/houdini_video/by_topic/modeling/index.html), [vislab.usyd.edu.au] the rocketship-part3, I was unable to trim the rocket window again after I have trimed the door. (even I had input the profile number into the trim group)
Does anyone know why?
I just found the trim does not work with multiple profiles. Did I do something wrong? I am current using V6.0 master

How can I loop the keyframes (or animation curve) in the channel editor?
How can I make partition group rule?
I tried to make groups which contains
partition_group1 = primitive0 - primitive9;
partition_group2 = primitive10 - primitive19;
partition_group2 = primitive20 - primitive29;
………………………..
I got frustrated about the partition rule because the houdini menu always does not have sufficient examples and explainations.

Is there any sop that I can work out the distance between 2 pts.
e.g. I want to do an animation about the plant and the sun. The closer the sun is located to the plant , the sooner the plant is going to die. This means I need to find out the distance between the sun and the plant. Then I will use the chf expression to define how many frame that I need to do the “frame delay”. Am I right?
Please show me how?

in SHOP, I can see a series PRman shaders. But there is no “Help files” that I can refernce for. Does anyone know where I can find some doc. or instructions that I can plug those PRman shaders with SHOP?

I think the vops things are just too deep for me at the moment. (I could only know how to build the surface shader there) I think I will get back there again once I know more about vops. Thanks again anyway! It is definatly an interesting exercise for me!

I extruded and smoothed the football a bit! Now the model looks okay!
