If I made a model in Houdini ,and then do texture job in substancepainter and then send HDA to UE reconnect those textures ,but if i change the shape of model how to ensure the texture still correct ?(for example those worn or scrach on the corner how to keep right position?)

You can just save your geometry out as .bgeo.sc, but when you bring the file back in there's an option on the file sop to read it as a packed disk primitive

I'd suggest reading https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/model/packed.html [www.sidefx.com]
If the toggle is off, Packed Geometry primitives are created instead. Both will "work" but are optimized for different use cases: in your case, for fractured pieces you should be using packed fragment primitives.

Hi guys , i know GPU dynamics acceleration is more faster than CPU if you have enough VRM ,but most graphic cards currently in market have very little VRM ,even 3090 is only 24G . it not enough for sim high resolution Pyro and Houdini only support one card for doing this currently.
so i would like to know will GPU dynamics acceleration support NVlink in the future for combine more VRM to sim? is it on Houdini's schedule?

Hi everyone,I want to buy a new PC and confused about the choice of Graphics Card , i offen use Houdini and Maya to do FX and Rendering such as Pyro,Particles,Vellum,Procedural Modeling......or mayabe UE5 things.
RTX A4000 have 16G VRM
Geforce 3080 have 10G VRM
Geforce 3080 have 12G VRM
i know more VRM will help to sim some dynamic effect faster,so i would like to know:
1 Would a professional graphics card be more helpful to Houdini?
2 whick Graphics Card is more help to me ?or in other word is the professional graphics card designed for software like Houdini?

sorry English is not my native language, I want to create a softbody sphere which falls to the ground . and the surface of the sphere is covered with hairs. my question is: should I solve the softbody first then solve the hair? or solve them together? if so how to do that? thank you so much if anyone can help me ~~

i am new to vellum sim, In houdini17.5, i used a vellum configure strut softbody node after a rubberToy model. i only increased the both bend stiffness in cloth and stretch stiffness in struts to 10000, increased the substep to 10, and i got this result below.it feels no weight and friction.look like a balloon.
