Thx!

Hi,
I have used $BBZ with Point (old) node to add color (see picture). If I understand correctly, the attribute expression will replace the old Point node. This $BBZ not work with that anymore? How this supposed to work?
Thx
Mika

You can use the reverse node.
or just make sure you have normals oriented in same direction and when you extrude use “existing normals”, don't let the polyextrude to precompute them.
The Reverse was exactly what I was looking for! Thx

Hi,
This is absolutely stupid question but how I can flip surface? I was thinking that direction of normal is direction surface but flipping normals doesn't do anything. When I polyextrude the surfaces (see attachment) some surfaces extrude in different direction.
Thx

Technical Discussion » How to lock object numbers

Hi,
How I can lock object/item names? Lets say I have a box and I have made polybevel for some edges. Then I add boolean before the polybevel node and because edge names changed, polybevel not work anymore. I have to redefine edges again.
thx

Thank you so much about your help, this really helped me to understand some basic things!

Thank you so much, I was able to replicate what you had and got it work! I used RBD solver because all old tutorials, what I found, used it.
I have couple of questions, if you don't mind….
1. You're doing some naming by this attribute wrangle, what is function of that?
2. What is function of Simmed_Candies?
3. Why you added null between delete and copytopoints?
Thanks again! This really helped!

Hi,
I try to emit a simple geometry and collide them to the bowl but some reason it doesn't work. What Im doing wrong? (See scene)

Technical Discussion » How to handle properly multiple action in same scene?

Hi,
I am new with animations and I try to figure out what is the right/best/proper workflow to build multiple separate action in same scene. Let’s say I have something like this:
Camera action1: 0-100F
Sim1: 101-200F
Camera action2: 201-300F
Sim2: 301-400F
Sim3: 401-500F
All actions shares same cameras, lights, environmental, render settings, etc. I was thinking that each action is its own file but then there is no link between these settings. If I build everything in same scene in chronology order, it is very difficult to edit when I have to add/remove frames from middle.
I think this sounds a basic question but I haven’t seen any tutorial how people handle this properly?
Thx

tamte
- you can still use Vellum SOP if you want to, just dive inside, and you can place DOPs
- as a group you can put point numbers directly or point group that you can create in SOPs before
I would never figured out this by myself! So simple and beautiful! Thanks man!

tamte
you can use POP Force, just limit the group to the points you want to pull and animate the force value
Hi,
Thanks for the answer. I built the DOP net but I don't know how to make group from two corner point in there and where I should connect the force? In Particle Force? See attachment.
Thx

Technical Discussion » Keyframes make simulation slower

HI,
I have a simple suction fluid simulation. Simulation runs fast when I don't have any keyframes but when I add two keyframes for the outside diameter, simulation is 5x slower. Even the 1st keyframe don't active when simulation starts. What causes this and how can avoid it? (See gif)
Thx
Mika

Hi,
I'm trying to create thickness for the edges using Wire node but I want it just for the selected edges (see selected.png picture). The Wire node accept just surfaces and not edges. How I should do this?
Thank you
Mika
