HI
Yes 3delight 8 works fine in houdini just like Pagefan said
add the environment variable
HOUDINI_DEFAULT_RIB_RENDERER=3Delight6.5 (no quotes)
you can check out your 3delight installation by opening the command prompt and typing renderdl -test if that shows you a nice render, then is working
if not post the results to see if I can help you

Hi
I don't think you can directly do it, but you can export an FBX, open that in maya and then into after effects.
you could also try making a script in houdini, but that's a bit more complex
good luck

yeah I think the squishy object will give you what you need, it deforms and gets back to shape easily and I think it calculates faster that cloth.

$FF==1
is like a very simple if check
if Floating Frame is equal to 1, result 1, else result is 0
you can use this to activate and deactivate stuff on a frame
you could check if frame is less then 5
$FF < 5
simple and powerful

Okey I had some time off
This is how I made it, I think this could be made better with blendshapes
or even better if you mix this with blendshapes.
hope this helps someone, it might need some clean up, sorry

Hi
You could also use a curve to drive your tubes, that way it can also be later modified by selecting the curve points.

Hi
I made a small test based on projection as SpOOkyPaul said
you can add any deformation/rotation/scale and it works, just a simple example for characters that have textured eyes.

Hi
I downloaded your scene and it works here as I told you
you need to use the backticks next to the one key, in the upper left of your keyboard.
I only have apprentice, so this is so you can see it working

Hi
Your expression is correct, the thing is, you are typing that in a group field, which expects a STRING,
`stamp(“../copy1”,“cy”,36)`
just add the back ticks at the start and end to EVALUATE the expression
and everything works

Hi
you can use npoints(“../line1”)
which will get you the number on points in line1, just change the node there, or you could get what ever you input to the node like this
npoints(opinputpath(“.”, 0))
hope that helps

Ok
I got it working now, I used spheres instead of points to get the shadows
I actually did try this yesterday BUT i forgot I had the render as points option enabled so, did saw any results,
this is the new render and I like it a lot, looks about right, the only thing that's weird now is of course, particles don't bunch up on the floor, they don't collide with each other.
If some one knows hiow to do that, please help.

hi
Is not the graphics card that has a problem is the houdini9.5 folder in your home directory, for some reason, the installation create a folder which belongs to root.
if you can't delete it
in terminal type
sudo chmod -R 777 houdini9.5
and that will fix it
