Just select the ones you do not want in the viewport and press the delete key. This will generate a Blast node with the point numbers in the pattern field. Those numbers can be used for further processing as well. Or copy those numbers into the Group field for a group node to make them a group.

It crashes on my Windows system too. If you change the drop down from Points to Guess From Group it does not crash.

Here is a link to a python video [youtube.com]. It is for Houdini 13 but I think it is still valid.

As far as I can tell OpenCL is still kind of a pipe dream. I don't see any significant benefit at this time of H15.5. If you are putting all your eggs in the OpenCL basket you will be disappointed. At best I have been able to measure a 30% usage of my GPU but when you run out of vRAM, as you often do in larger sims, Houdini will just crash and you will have lost the time you invested up to that point.
So I always stick to CPU and ignore all those OpenCL checkboxes that SideFX has so gingerly sprinkled throughout the system. But go ahead and give them a try, I did. Spend a day turning them on and off and conducting tests and you may come to the same conclusion. You may be better off spending time overclocking your CPU. A faster Ghz does improve sim times.
But I would love to see an example HIP file where OpenCL significantly decreases sim time in a complex simulation.

Maybe this fracture along path example [forums.odforce.net] might give you ideas on how to activate pieces through proximity?

Open a Textport window and type the word ‘memory’. This will display how much memory Houdini is currently using. Because simulations change over time you may want to move to a frame where the simulation is in full swing and type ‘memory’.

A velocity channel is actually 3 channels so it makes sense, 3/4ths. You have vel.x, vel.y and vel.z. If you want to view the volume drop down a Volume Visualizer and move the display flag to that node. You can specify what field to view, I think it defaults to density.

The nulls are the rig controllers. Rotate them, not the actual bone nodes.

I just export FBX out of MakeHuman and then do any rig fixup/controllers with python inside of Houdini. This simplifies things and keeps the rig fairly portable if I need to use another program to make assets that work with the rig.

I doubt it, no one can legally render your file without violating a license agreement. How much are you going to pay them anyway? Just pay SideFX $200.00 bucks for an Indie license and you can render watermark free for a year, locally or on a renderfarm.

I believe the license travels with the .hipnc file. So if you submit a .hipnc to a render farm you will get watermarked output.

If you visualize your fuel you will see that is not burning quickly enough. As long as the fuel exists combustion will occur. Try to find a way to either emit less fuel or burn it more quickly.
Or:
Change the Source Volume from Add to Copy then loosen up the drag on the particles..
