Thank you for your reply!
I opened your file, but fond it difficult to reproduce what you did since I have just started Houdini few months ago.
Did you use any of the shelf tools? If so can you tell me which one please!

Hello It is my first time rigging properly and I finally managed to rig the whole body.
Now I want to add clothes and hair to the body which I have already made.
I tried the hair simulatin and cloth simulation but both seems to take too much memory and time to simulate..
Does anyone know any cpu friendly way to attach clothes and hair to the body? The hair doesn't really have to move at all since it is short hair and I want the clothes to move together with the body but the they don't really have to act like proper cloth since it is just a shirt and pants..
The whole thing looks like the picture below. Thanks!

These tutorials were very helpful. If someone needs help for rigging in Houdini these would definitely help!
The 2nd one seems to cover facial rig as well!!!

Wow, Thank you for your reply. Okay I understand that there is a bit of a learning curve, and yes I will try that pose thank you very much.
Do you know if there is anyway to fill in the white bits without selecting each bone and painting them? (Because there are like 50~100 bones)

I only have a simple rigging experience in Blender and now I'm trying to do a bit more complex rigging in Houdini but I find it really difficult when it comes to the paint capture part.
I am following this tutorial http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/character/biped [sidefx.com] and now I am supposed to fill in all the white bits but I find it so troublesome to do this. I am pretty sure if it is in maya or blender they have a automatic rigging system and then you can just move the rig and find/fix the wrong bits but in Houdini there are so many parts that are not weighted properly!
Is there no auto function like that in Houdini? Or do you have to set all the weights manually even after you set the bones? Why is Houdini's rigging system said to be really good? I do want to use Houdini but the rigging I find so difficult and time consuming!! Is it just that I am not used to it yet?
(I also have to do the face rigging as well so if I think about that, I can't help without thinking that isn't there a faster way)
Does everyone use Houdini for rigging or other softwares like Blender, 3dsMax, or Maya?

Hello, I'm trying to paint capture on my model following this tutorial http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/character/biped [sidefx.com]
But I don't know how exactly am I supposed to see which bone I am painting for..
Like for example in Blender if you're weight painting only the weight of the bone you are painting shows up.
Is there a way to do that in Houdini?
I am wondering if I should rig in Blender or Houdini but I kind of want to do it in Houdini also seeing on the forums that Houdini's rigging system is really good.

Hello, sorry I figured out what was wrong now.
I put in the whole fbx imported from blender as the object 1 in merge_scene_geo, which was causing the problem. when I changed it to one of the geometry files, the weight paint showed up correctly. Sorry about the trouble and thanks for your help

Hello so I followed this tutorial http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/character/biped [sidefx.com] and is now on the paint capture section. But I can't seem to find a way to change to weight paint mode. I selected the paint_capture node and clicked the handle tool as said but still the weight paint view doesn't come out. Can someone help me please?
