Hello-

I recently had to do a reinstall of my OS and i've just got around to installing houdini apprentice and whenever I launch it the license utility pops up and tells me that it can't connect to the license server and there is a big red icon saying its not running.

I've tried reinstalling it a couple of times to no avail. Any ideas why this is happening as before I just clicked on the button that said ‘Install Apprentice License’ and it all just worked itself out.

Do i have to start the license server and if so how do i do that?

you can try configuring your version of Houdini to use local licensing:
