Hi,

with a cookie, I got a Mesh with a lot of polygons with more than four points. This destroys the lighting.
Result:

The divide-sob makes things better, but the result is far away from perfect and the surface isn't as smooth as before:

How can I automatically fix this? To many polygons to cut them by hand.

In cases like this it would be far better to post up your scene file so we can take a look.

Yeah, you might also have to Facet SOP and stuff to try to clean up the result. Don't trust the viewport shading too much.
