Please advise where I can start learning how to create an animation with a cel shaded look in Houdini using the Mantra renderer if this is possible. Thank you in advance!

Hava look at the vex_cartoon SHOP.
You can also merge a wireframe SOP that has a constant shaded lighting model in VOPs with a semi-constant shader (see attached) to get shadows.
I'm not sure how you'd render intersections as lines though.

yeah composite a wren pass over a colour pass with some compositing you will get a good result.

you will be at the mercy of the wren pass.. not sure how it animates…

Nice easy technique, but I have trees and concrete balls (!) in my scene, is there a shader than can handle this? Thanks.
