Hi guys. Just want to ask some stuffs. I transferred a windows Houdini file to a mac and when i render, the render comes out red. And previous attempts with transferring a windows file to a mac results in the models becoming corrupted.

Is there a difference between using a mac and windows to work on houdini?

thanks

If the render is pink it could be missing textures. Check texture paths.
The drive name in the texture path might be different, EG: /hostname/ vs D:\
Switching back & forth is going to be a pain unless you keep the work portable, with everything accessable via $HIP, EG:
yourscene.hip
\backup
\geo
\map
\otl
\pi

Ive never ever had a problem with Houdini .hip file being used cross platform.

You're using apprentice version of Houdini right?
I am pretty sure you will get only .hipnc format unless you purchased the commercial license.
