Hi,
I've been using 3dsmax and maya for 5 years now, and both of those programs have some default settings that you can change. How can I keep my project workflow in houdini?
1. How can I setup a project folder? Or just change a default folder to save files out? This $HIP seams to remember the last saved path file, but then I need to change every path to each file manually
2. I often noticed that flipbook stops rendering in the middle. So I learned that I need to change my ram settings in Cache Manager. But then whenever I reopen houdini I need to set those again. How to save those as default?

If you load a .hip file, $HIP automatically changes to the parent subdirectory of that .hip file.

you can read through both of these…
they are a little old but the info is still very much applicable.
