REF for a progress column in the mantra viewer. Perhaps if it stated # of buckets completed over the total it needs to do for that frame would be great. It's just handy to know how far things are coming along when doing 10k by 10k renders.

Try turning on the Alfred progress verbosity setting:

mantra -Va1 < foo.ifd

This will print out the percentage complete (in an odd format which is recognized by Pixar's Alfred render queue manager)
