RoundedEdge VOP into Curvature VOP?

Is there a way to feed the RoundedEdge VOP into the Curvature VOP?

When I do, I don't get the results expected…

They're not going to play nice together, unfortunately. RoundedEdge VOP is a shading trick using random ray gather, so when Curvature VOP tries to figure out its derivatives, it will end up with just noise. You may get okay results with micropolygon render engine, with smooth option off (in the curvature vop), with high enough samples in the roundedEdge VOP. I'd recommend using workarounds though (such as baking occlusion-based curvature into texture, which may produce result you're looking for).

Thanks for the response.

I'm using it to make curvature maps to bring into Mari.

I found that if the geo isn't modeled for subd I don't get the greatest results. I was hoping to use the rounded edges vop with the curvature vop to bake out nice curvature maps on some of the low res objects we get somtimes.
