Hi Guys,

I have a custom human rig which I use all the time, I would like to use mixamo animation for some crowd RND, but the problem is my rig is not same as the mixamo rig mine has few extra joints in the joint chain.

So what I was thinking is to somehow setup a scene where i can transfer mixamo animations to my rig and export them to use.

Is it possible to do so , if yes how?
I have tried searching in google but not found any ideas.

Please let me know if someone have any ideas.

Thank you.

Moin, unknown user,

I guess there isn't an out-of-the-box solution. Depending on how exactly your rigs differ one from another, you may be able to set up a constraints network that “glues” your rig to the source rig, obviously you'd need to manually pick the optimal constraint points/areas.
You could write a “parser” that calculates transforms for your rig depending on - again, hand-picked - transforms of the source rig (this is how I dealt with importing DAZ rigs into Houdini).
If the MESHes are very similar, you could also “glue” (attach) your target mesh to your source mesh. I doubt that this will give the best results, but, depending on the data you are dealing with, it might just work (and has the benefit of being a few-clicks-solution).

If your setup always uses the same source and target rigs, doing the manual setup once and then reuse the resulting script or Houdini scene whenever necessary sounds like a good idea to me (but I am a “tech guy”, so take it with some spice).

Out of here. Being called a dick after having supported Houdini users for years is over my paygrade.
I will work for money, but NOT for "you have to provide people with free products" Indie-artists.
Good bye.
