I have been spanning through the forums both here and odforce looking for new information or developments on compiling HDK on Windows with anything but Visual Studio .net 2003. I was wondering if anything has changed or anyone discovered something sneaky.

I have been trying with VC++ 2005 Express Edition and getting wierd compiling errors that can only point to the VC include files:
… /program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio 8/VC/include\objbase.h(503) : error C2061: syntax error : identifier ‘LPMalloc’

I have not tried to compile through the Microsoft IDE yet but I suppose it is worth an attempt.

If indeed you MUST compile Houdini 8.1.746 only on Visual Studio .net 2003, how do you get a legal copy of it? I've been scrambling around the microsquish pages and finding bupkiss.

Any kind of suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You have to get full VC++2003, either you buy it full price or crack it!
But any other version wont work!

Sorry!

Unexperienced and unqualified HDK developer!
Time to get out of this messy world.
