Sculpting hair and textile fibers is both addictive and zen! I found the Houdini set of hair tools really efficient and intuitive, allowing to focus and iterate on the art direction.
For this entry I wanted to convey a sense of feel and tactility. I combined 3 layers of hair generation nodes flows, using a cloth rolled into a cone shape. I have also been intentional with the staging, using multiple light points to "sculpt with light" and create subtle contrast. This is where the power of XPU for semi-interactive render helps. I reached the limit of one of my graphics cards while testing a 4K render though.
