This node provides an editable subnet for modifying the prototypes of an instancer. It also uses a population mask to unclutter your view while editing the prototypes.
Transforms applied to the root primitive of the prototypes will be ignored.
Modifying the prototypes will not change the total number of Prototypes in the stage, unless you enable
Apply to Selected Instances Only.
Specify whether the instances edited are Point Instances or Native Instances.
The pattern of selected instanceable prims or point instances.
Specify a list of paths to instanceable prims to replace.
Specify a list of individual instances using
Whether to edit the Prototypes, or to directly edit the selected instances (native instances only).
When set to Selected Instances, each selected native instance is made available for editing within the subnet. The node will apply the edits and the prims will remain instanceable. This will cause USD to generate one new prototype for each selected instance.
Apply to Selected Instances Only
This toggle will use the prototypes to the edits, and generate new prototypes that only apply to the selected instances.
When editing Native Instances, this will simply apply the edits to the selected primitives only.
When this node is set to edit Point Instances, it will first make a reference copy of the original prototype, then apply the users changes only to the new prototype.
Modify Prototypes at Origin
This toggle will present the prototypes within the subnet either at the origin (default), or in their world space positition. This is primarily an editing
Choose whether to apply the edits as References, or as Inherits.
The prim path location where the edits will be stored, before they are referenced into place.
This node uses a population mask to isolate the stage, and only present the prototypes for editing. If you need to include extra primitives for visual reference, you can add their paths here.
New Prototype Suffix
When Apply to Selected Instances Only is enable for a Point Instancer, this is the suffx added to the new prototypes.
