USD keeps track of bounding box (“extents”) metadata for primitives containing geometry, to allow the user to switch to fast display of boxes in place of heavy geometry and/or unloaded payloads.
This node lets you manually set the bounding box metadata for selected prims, interactively in the viewport or using parameters.
The default pattern syntax in this node’s Primitives parameter selects all prims with payloads. Combined with the default Mode of “Automatic”, this lets you set all payload extents to the known size of the geometry. This can be useful when authoring geometry in-memory in a LOPs network, to set all bounding-box metadata before writing the files to disk.
The primitive(s) the node should operate on. You can drag primitives from the scene graph tree pane into this textbox to add their paths, or click the Reselect button beside the text box to select the primitives in the viewer, or ⌃ Ctrl-click the Reselect button to choose prims from a pop-up tree window. You can also use primitive patterns for advanced matching, including matching all prims in a collection (using
