It looks good man, however I have some concerns:
did you test this on a production model?
I'm thinking that although on a cube “grabbing the nearest” works very well, when you have a dense mesh with lots of points near each other (like in a multi beveled edge intersection) having the highlight showing what you're about to grab is of great help.

Doesn`t see reason to add highlighting on dence mesh.
But I will add this for you and drunk persons that can`t catch vertex

It would be good if SESI will add multi-components selection and\or hide-invisible-comps snapping

I'll have you know, I perform a bit better than a drunk, albeit not by much

I need to finish some key features like snapping with ctrl, axises, spliting, etc and record video with creating some simple creature.
It looks like stretch tool can replace many operations for quick poly splitting and transforming.
Coming soon with good (for both hardsurface and organic shapes) all-in-one-tool features…

Middle click on edge for setting a refference coord. system which would help slide along it? Pretty sure you know what I mean since I saw you work with XSI as well.
I know it's a long stretch (pun intended?!) since it has to do with how Houdini deals with transforms in general.

I think this tool doesn`t need classic manipulators like edit (for translate, rotate, scale). It can get transfrom direction vector very quickly and intuitive. And of cource can set custom reference vector, like from edge in you example.
I will show transform vectors functionality in next few videos

Whoo, looks terribly good !

i vote too for the highlight, because in dense zones this show if you actually grab the good component, a poly an edge or a point…

haven't saw in you demo an equivalent to the edge tool to split polys, did you plan something like that too ?

This is very cool !

Of course:
1. Transform -> Move, Rotate, Scale (with soft radius, snapping, auto-merge etc)
2. Extrude\Bevel - when you duplicate something
3. Split\Edge loop\Cut - when you cutting
4. Delete\Dissolve

All in One tool )

EDIT:
Transform -> Move, Rotate, Scale (with soft radius, snapping, auto-merge etc) + quick sticky sculpt

This is really impressive. Can't wait to try it out, both to model, and to learn from how you did it!

Impressive. The modeling manipulations look smooth and natural. I'd be curious to see what kind of node network this tool is generating behind the scenes.

It is very simple . Nodes from start to end, without any standard houdini manipulations. http://s12.postimg.org/d6oti6v6z/2015_02_21_174617_1600x900_scrot.png [s12.postimg.org]

EDIT: But for reposition components (main tool feature) it need just one Edit SOP
